    I was turning in some papers at a law firm. The lead lady collector smiled and shouted “we can tell when you serve our papers, our telephones ring with calls from defendants you served” Thaty so true that they are my biggest client. Don’t just serve papers, Sell the def’s on the importance of the suit.


    How? Do you even know what the papers say? Do you read them?

    I almost always read the papers I am serving. In the event the def is polite and asks basic questions, I always advise them I am not an attorney but give a brief overview of what is going on. I also encourage them to contact an attorney or the Plaintiff with further question to clear up the issue before court.
